Nice 😎✨
Thanks for posting!
Lo ascolto dal 1981 ho tutto di lui, artista ecclettico ed unico nel suo modo di suonare. Grande uomo, ha lasciato in me tantissimo, perdita incolmabile.
Amazing
Grande Artista ❤❤❤❤😮
Beautiful playing, such an original and lyrical approach to this classic tune.
Miss the master. 🥲
The master. Missed
One of his best solos ever
Rest in peace master...5.5.2023...you are my inspiration and idol...thank you teacher 🎸❤️🙏🏿
What a great jazzguitarist...he is unique and awesome ...thank you Jack..
The man was such an under-rated genius. Awesome to watch and listen to. RIP Jack.
This audience has Jack Wilkins playing for them, and they can't STFU.
The melody that Phil plays near the beginning and at the end is from a song of his (with the same changes as "All The Things You Are") called "What's Her Name", originally written for Keith O'Quinn and recorded by Phil with Rich Matteson on their album "Sound of the Wasp" (which Phil mentioned at the beginning of your "Red Flannel Hash" recording). One important thing about the "Sound of the Wasp" album - Rich brought in a very talented young pianist for the recording named Lyle Mays, who went on to be an important part of the Pat Metheny Group.
It looks like he's done this before.
I wouldn't have posted it because Jack can play but by this you wouldn't know it
He gets all the notey stuff out of the way, then digs in. Thanks for this, Mr. W and Mr. Uploader.
I feel that I have met a Master of the Guitar. Thank you.
great artist
Fantastic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Miss my old friend Ron Davis
I remember working with him frequently in those days. He was a really nice guy and very reliable.
Big loss …. Jack Wilkins was so high … Thanks mr Wilkins for the music you brought !!
Am hoping this stays up for awhile because I love certain parts, such as the shout chords leading up to trading with the drummer.
Lost too soon. Genius master gentleman. Got to sing with him at bella Luna and nj. Contacts with him always returned. Miss him muchly. 😞
Great!!!!!
Master genius inventive classy gentleman in everyway. Got to sing with him at bella luna and in nj jazz club. Kept in contact for many years. Sent me music for For Biden. Will miss him muchly. God needed a master guitarist and he chose Mr Wilkins. Heaven is a better place.
RIP Jack!
RIP Jack!
Stop fucking talking and listen!
one of the greatest, RIP
RIP. one of the greats.
RIP, Jack!
😢 rest easy, my friend
Caribe
Excellent playing!!
I have no words for that level of playing. My ears do, but they don’t talk.
I’ve got to start really studying Mr Heath’s playing and composing/arranging! Thanks for posting!
The clinking of glasses, and the clanking of whatever else is atmosphere. It goes well with jazz. I could do without the chitchat!
Great guitarist that has been known mainly among musicians for decades. This is the best version of '"It Could Happen To You" I've ever heard on guitar - and it's live too ! Great treatment of the melody, beautiful solo lines, and overall tremendous jazz trio playing on his part. Check out his albums, of which he has several. Windows, Captain Blued, and Trioart of three great ones. Captain blued has an added bonus, with the great Phil Woods playing.
Jimmy Raney. To each their own. Jack has great chops.
@@golds04 Thanks for reminding me of Jimmy. Great jazz guitarist !
@@flm954 yup. Lots of great players. Many obscure. Like my teacher Joe Monk. Keep the strings tuned and burning. 😀
Got to sing with him many years ago. Magic. 👍😎🐊
Thx best. Master of jazz
Enjoying the jam! Always a treat to hear Jack Wilkins!
Beautiful sounds.
This is so great listening to this legend. I was lucky to see him once with Tootie, and Percy years ago in San Francisco. I wish I’d seen him more often. I always liked “CTA”!
I was lucky enough to see Mr Person back in the 70s or 80s in NYC with Etta Jones! What a treat. Thanks for posting!
Just killin’
👍
👏🏼
For those wondering, that is a Bill Comins GCS-1ES. Fantastic semi-hollow guitar.
Jack is an amazing guitarist. However, for whatever reason, the tone of his guitar in this video is not good.
It resembles my Ibanez AR-125 Amberburst, which is surprisingly good for the price. No budget, but plenty of desire, for a Comins.
maybe a matter of choice.. he chose to use it as a solid body, which you can do with a semi hollow, so the sound is quite compressed, giving a more melodic sound, but little percussion... he does not comp a lot , or almost, so no clarity is really required. Note that the smartphone sound is always compressed... He does not use the fender amp, so he maybe plays through the PA.. that is rarely the clearer solution! too
@@manuelfraiman5534 It looks to me like he's using the fender, hes just plugged into the 'vibrato' channel.
UA-cam give us the treat of being able to see great talent at the push of a button.
